Basic Psychosomatic Care in Berlin

Basic psychosomatic care is of particular importance in medical practice. In general practice, specialist practices, or the various departments of a hospital, a large proportion of psychological and psychosomatic symptoms and disorders are identified for the first time.

For this reason, basic psychosomatic care is a mandatory component of specialist training in General Medicine as well as in Gynecology and Obstetrics. It is also of great value to every physician directly involved in patient care. For this reason, basic psychosomatic care includes specific billable services in the medical fee schedule.

The Basic Psychosomatic Care Courses are organized by:

Academy for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy (APM) e. V.

German Society for Psychosomatic Medicine and Medical Psychotherapy (DGPM) e. V. – Berlin/Brandenburg Regional Association

Federal Association for Psychosomatic Medicine and Medical Psychotherapy (BDPM) e. V.

Our courses are offered as an Intensive Course (block course over 3 weekends) based on the Curriculum (Course Manual) for Basic Psychosomatic Care of the German Medical Association. The courses are certified by the Berlin Medical Association both as specialist training and as continuing medical education and are therefore also recognized by the other Medical Associations. Completion covers all required content and meets the requirements of the Berlin Medical Association, the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians of Berlin, the Brandenburg Medical Association, and the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians of Brandenburg.

You can attend the courses to obtain billing authorization for services in Basic Psychosomatic Care (codes 35100 and 35110 in the EBM), for admission to all specialist examinations (General Medicine, Gynecology including Sexual Medicine under the new Specialty Training Regulations), and for admission to Acupuncture and Pain Therapy.

Our Balint Groups are, of course, open not only to participants in the Basic Psychosomatic Care curriculum, but also to physicians seeking specialist recognition in Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy, Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, or the additional qualification in Psychotherapy.

We place great importance on maintaining a high standard of medical quality in specialist training.

The experienced instructors and Balint group leaders of the Academy for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy (APM) e. V. are physicians working in the field and have extensive professional expertise in both outpatient and inpatient care.
